Geoff’s Christmas PDF Print E-mail

Isobel's CatOur black and white moggy Geoff is very greedy, has no inhibitions about jumping on tables, and likes to play with all sorts of things around the house, so I was a little nervous about our first Christmas together! However, by shutting him in his bedroom during Christmas dinner we managed to avoid too many disasters. He only spoilt it by stealing some peanuts on Boxing Day and vomiting them up on his bed… It didn’t seem to bother him since he was demanding food as normal, but we added yet another item to the list of things we can’t leave within his reach!

He loved his ‘fishing toy’ present and will run down from upstairs if I rattle the bell on it, which will hopefully help with his waistline. Unfortunately he completely ignored the toy my sister gave him, which was a little embarrassing Embarassed.  He did show some interest in the Christmas lights along the banisters, because he likes to sit on the stairs and watch everybody; so the lights were right in front of him and were obviously a bit too tempting. So we had to keep listening out for any sound of them rattling to catch him before he electrocuted himself.

I discovered that our Nintendo Wii Fit has a ‘pet’ option, so out of curiosity I registered Geoff. I had visions of ‘cat aerobics’ but of course that was my imagination! There is now a little cartoon of a black and white cat when we turn it on, which is cute, but more usefully it allows us to monitor his weight which will be really helpful since he is prone to putting on weight so I have to carefully measure out his food and weigh him regularly.
